Authentic materials are those intended for native speakers. No authentic materials should be disqualified as long as there is proper selection considering the class proficiency level. But how do we choose authentic materials for the different student proficiency levels? What can we use? What can we do with them? This session will provide ideas on how to create activities using these materials with no translation at all language levels to subvert assumptions and engage students in the learning process.
